President House Delhi - Must Visit

President HousePresident House

President House is a must place to visit if you are sightseeing around Delhi as this is a structure of elegance as well as political importance. President House , otherwise known as Rashtrapati Bhawan, was built under British Rule or the Raj as it was then named. It was built to house the Viceroy of India and His Entourage so the Ruling Elite could Run India in Style. Now it is a place where locals and Tourists alike can revel in its splendor rather than it just being a symbol of colonial rule. It was originally designed by the Architect Lutyens and boasts over 340 well furnished and thought out rooms. It also has a beautiful courtyard which makes it similar to Mughal Architecture in other parts of India too. Durbar Hall is the main great room for all official and important functions of State so to this day the Building is being used to for Governance and is a must see.
